I wonder how teachers feel when it’s graduation time.

Particularly elementary school teachers since they’re basically with their kids the entire day.

When I was at Science Camp taking care of some 5th graders for a week, it’s like they all became little siblings to me as I got to know them and take care of them. I only spent one week with them but when it was time for them to leave, I wanted to cry.

Teachers on the other hand, spend about 40 weeks with the kids. Not only do they educate them for those weeks, it’s also 40 weeks of getting to know and taking care of the kids. It’s like they become a second parent and a friend to them.

Then when it’s time to graduate, it’s like they’re just leaving their lives. That 40-weeks-long bond is broken just like that.

I wonder how they feel saying good-bye.
