Does the attractiveness of a person affect the friendship?

Whenever I see two friends together, I always wonder if their friendship would be any different if one or both of them was more or less attractive (but still the same personality and such).

Would the conversations be the same? Would they talk and hang out with each other more or less? Would they continue treating each other the same way, or would they act meaner or nicer towards one another? Would romantic feelings be any different? Would they be able to bond easier or harder? Would the friendship be stronger or weaker?

How about before they even met. Would they even talk to one another? Would one be too shy or intimidated to approach the attractive one, or would one have no interest and steer clear from the ugly one?

Ask yourself, if your closest friend was uglier or more attractive, would the friendship still be the same? How about before you guys became close friends?
